is a small sampling of some of the contest list spam we
consistently receive. List spam is where an entrant attempts
to increase their odds of winning by joining over and over
again using throw-away email addresses. We receive an alert
for each new contest entry as soon as their name and email
address is added to the drawing database. Our system will flag
and and then automatically lock the name and email address
(and all variations, see below) of an offending list spammer
within the database to prevent a contest re-entry. On occasion
the software will lock out a perfectly valid name and email
address and we apologize in advance for this and are working
to fine tune the software to avoid this. |

If by chance
you're name and email is flagged, you might see an error
screen like this: |

If you'd like to increase your
chances of winning our contest by using your secondary or
alternate email address, that's fine and our software will
allow that. If however you decide to spam the database your
entry will be flagged. It will then be automatically locked
from a re-entry. |

How to fix it
Unsubscribe (bottom of any email from us)
and then go back to the Zippo
home page
and re-subscribe. This will clear your old name and email
address and any associations immediately, you're all set -
easy! |

We just can't imagine all the time
spent by the people above creating all the additional email
addresses, entering everything into the contest form and
finally confirming each entry via email only to have their
name and email address locked out of the contest
automatically.
